Mee Hailam

Mee Hailam 

Ingredients 
300gm wet yellow noodles 
200gm medium size prawns, discard shells but leave the entrails 
100gm chicken fillet, cut into thin slices 
4 cloves garlics, Blend into paste 
1 onion – blend into paste 
1 tablespoon of chillie paste 
1 tablespoon of oyster sauce 
2 tablespoon of dark soya sauce (I use kicap manis cap kipas udang) 
1 tablespoon of light soya sauce 
1 tablespoon of tomato sauce 
1 teaspoon of blackpepper 
10 fishballs 
1 fishcake - slice 
2 stalks mustard leaves (sawi) 
carrots, cut thinly 
Chinese cabbage – slice 
6 young corn - slice 

Cornflour to thicken the gravy 

Instructions 
1. Saute garlics, onion and chilli paste over low heat, once soften immediately add in black pepper. Stir until fragrant. cook for about 3 mins. 

2. Add chicken meat, saute until changed colour . Pour some water and let cook for 5 mins or until they are cooked, then add in prawns , fishballs and fishcake, mix well. 

3. Add in oyster sauce, soya sauce, and tomato sauce. 

4. Add some more water enough to soak the noodle later. Once boiling, add vegetables. 

5. Add noodles ,when the noodles are slightly soften, add some cornflour and water mixture to thicken the gravy. 

6) Served hot with cut chillies.
